Toys Recalled Due to Lead Paint / Design Flaws - Class Action Lawsuit Filed

A large number of toys designed for young children and infants have recently been recalled.  Heninger Garrison Davis has filed a class action complaint in the Northern District of Alabama recently on behalf of all persons who purchased children’s toys which have been recalled due to lead paint and/or design flaws.  This complaint is the first of its kind in Alabama and is brought against companies who manufactured and designed the recalled toys.

Contact with and exposure to lead paint can cause serious disorders in children, including speech delay, hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, neurological and renal damage, stunted growth, anemia and hearing loss.  At increasingly high levels of exposure, a child may suffer kidney damage, mental retardation and brain damage, fall into a coma and even die from lead poisoning.

Some of the more common brands subject to the recalls include Thomas & Friends, Sesame Street, Dora and Diego toys, Barbie and Polly Pockets.  For complete information on which toys have been recalled, please refer to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website using this link:  http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/category/toy.html

We are concerned over the troubling safety issues that exist within the toy industry in this country.  If you have a recalled toy, please call our toll free number or click here for our confidential questionnaire.
