Heninger Garrison Davis presented a check for $10,000 to Birmingham Education Foundation today with funds raised from the inaugural “Red, White and Brew” event. A part of The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, Ed is “dedicated to increasing the number of students in the in Birmingham City Schools that are on the path to college, career and life-readiness.”
Heninger, Garrison, Davis is honored to have helped pull the community together in conjunction with the Birmingham Food Trucks for such a worthy cause and thrilled to present the donation to J.W. Carpenter, Executive Director and Whitney Williams, Development Manager, for the foundation.
The all-ages, family friendly inaugural event was held at TrimTab Brewing on Tuesday, July 4 in partnership with the Birmingham Food Trucks. In addition to the local mobile culinary offerings, the event had live performances from local Birmingham bands Riverbend, John Kelly and His Six String and The Hurlers, plus an array of children’s activities.
“It was very important to our team that the event was family friendly and that all the vendors and talent were local to Birmingham,” said Tzena Gauldin, Firm Administrator at HGD. “The idea of the event was to create an opportunity for the entire community to come together to celebrate the 4th and all things Birmingham, while raising money to support our amazing Birmingham students.”
The inaugural Red, White and Brew! did just that, drawing a crowd of over 2000 people in attendance. The size of the crowd far exceeded anyone’s expectations for the evening, but also spoke to the commitment of the Birmingham community to support local events and school initiatives.
“One of the greatest freedoms we enjoy as Americans is the right to an education. At Heninger Garrison Davis, we firmly believe that a strong educational foundation is crucial to success. We are honored to host this event to support the Birmingham Education Foundation,” said Erik Heninger, partner at Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC. “The organization maintains a dedication to helping students foster individual skills for future accomplishments. The Foundation’s resources help ensure our local students achieve academic, professional, and personal successes that build confidence and create a better future for us all as a community.”
Stay tuned for plans for “Red, White and Brew! 2018.”
