As a trial attorney at Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC, Anna M. Carroll represents Plaintiffs all over the state in a wide variety of cases. She was born in Ozark, Alabama and developed an interest in law at a young age when her soccer coach was elected as the local District Attorney. Following graduation from Birmingham-Southern College in 2011, Anna explored the other side of the classroom by teaching English abroad in Hungary. She then worked in Human Resources at a local law firm while studying for the LSAT. Anna graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2016 and began practicing law at Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC upon passing the Alabama Bar Exam in September 2016.

Anna has devoted her career to representing aggrieved individuals. She strives to meet her clients’ needs and to help make the legal process understandable for everyone. Anna’s practice focuses primarily on personal injury and wrongful death, including medical malpractice, motor vehicle collisions, and premises liability. In addition to practicing in Alabama, she is also licensed in New Jersey and Tennessee. Anna finds the most joy in her practice through her interactions with other people, whether clients, defendants, attorneys, or judges. Anna is being recognized in the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for her work in personal injury litigation.

Anna is an active leader in the legal community in Birmingham and in the state of Alabama. She was elected as an executive committee member to the Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association in December of 2018. She has since served on the YLS board continuously and has been elected to the positions of Vice President of Public Service and President-Elect. Anna also served on the BBA’s Nominating Committee for two years and, as President of the Young Lawyers Section, she sat on the BBA’s Executive Board in 2022. She is currently a participant in the BBA Future Leader’s Forum. Anna is a proud member of the Alabama Association for Justice and endeavors to preserve and protect the Seventh Amendment right to a jury trial.

Anna is also a dedicated citizen of the city of Birmingham. She fell in love with Birmingham when she moved here in 2007, and her love of and pride in the city continues to grow every year. Since April 2018, she has tutored adults in literacy at the Literacy Council of Central Alabama. She believes that Frederick Douglass said it best when he wrote “Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” (Douglass, 1845).

In her free time, Anna enjoys travelling with her friends, visiting her family in Ozark, experiencing Birmingham’s exciting food scene, reading novels, watching college football and Formula 1 racing, and baking pastries. She lives in Avondale with her devoted companion, five-year-old German Shepherd, Freyja.
