A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future

Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC recognizes the fortitude it takes to overcome the circumstances that a traumatic car accident thrusts upon a person and wants to make life easier for an impacted student.

As such, the firm proudly introduces its “A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future” Scholarship. This scholarship offers $2,500 to a student who can write between 500 and 1,000 words describing the way their traumatic car crash changed their life.

Students have until December 15, 2023, to submit their scholarship essay and additional relevant materials to Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC’s scholarship selection committee. Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC cannot accept scholarship applications submitted after this deadline.

Application Requirements

Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC encourages incoming and current college students interested in all fields of study to apply for the “A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future” scholarship. Interest students must include evidence proving that they meet the following criteria when submitting their applications:

  • You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • You are enrolled in or accepted at an accredited college, university, or graduate school in the United States
  • You agree to the scholarship terms and conditions 
  • Submit the necessary application materials
  • You have lived through a traumatic car accident and can document your experience

How Do I Apply?

Students who want to apply for the “A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future” must:

  • Fill out the application form on this page 
  • Upload a copy of your unofficial transcript
  • Upload a copy of your scholarship essay
  • Submit proof of enrollment/acceptance to an accredited college/ university/ graduate school (Student ID; Letter of acceptance; etc.)

Describe how a traumatic car accident experience has influenced your life and determined your future prospects in the work field.

Application Deadline

Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC accepts applications for the “A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future” until December 15, 2023. The firm’s scholarship selection committee will not consider applications submitted after this deadline or without all of the essential materials.

Once the firm closes its scholarship deadline, the scholarship selection committee takes between one and three months to consider applicants’ applications. The firm cannot answer questions about the scholarship or an application’s progress during this time. 

Instead, families and students with questions about a scholarship should refer to that scholarship’s relevant page on the Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC website.

Terms and Conditions

All applicants to this scholarship must meet the eligibility requirements as laid out on the scholarship application page, including:

  • Applicant must be enrolled at a college, university, or graduate school
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old at the age of enrollment
  • Applicant must have residency in the United States
  • Applicant must be in good academic standing
  • Applicant must submit some personal information, including name, contact information, and proof of enrollment. 
  • Applicant must author an original essay on the scholarship essay topic provided. 
  • Applicant must have lived through a traumatic car accident and document their experience in a 500 to 1,000-word essay

Anyone who meets the following conditions is NOT eligible to apply:

  • Employees or children of employees of Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC
  • Past recipients of the “A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future Scholarship”
  • Applicants who are unable/unwilling to be interviewed by a representative of Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC, if they were to be awarded a scholarship. 
  • Applicants who submit the same essay for multiple scholarships

Selection & Award Notification Process

Students must submit their applications for the “A Second Chance: How My Accident Changed My Goals for the Future” by December 15, 2023, to have their essays read by the firm’s scholarship committee. The scholarship selection committee will not consider applications submitted without all of their relevant materials or after this deadline.

Once the submissions period closes, the firm’s scholarship selection committee will read through each student’s relevant essay. Age, race, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, or other protected classes will have no influence on the committee’s choice of a winner.

Only the winning student should expect to hear from Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC’s scholarship selection committee. The committee will reach out via email once it selects a winner. Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC will then go on to announce the winner via blog post and press release.

The winning student and their family can expect Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC to communicate directly with a winning student’s college or university to arrange the delivery of the student’s scholarship award.
