Heninger Garrison Davis partner Brandy L. Robertson is honored to be slated as a candidate for the Birmingham Bar Association Executive Committee, Place 4, for 2026.
“I’m humbled to be slated as a candidate for the Birmingham Bar Association Executive Committee, Place 4, for 2026.
The BBA has been instrumental in my growth as a lawyer, giving me invaluable professional connections and lifelong friends. I’ve been grateful to serve in many roles—on the Membership, Mentoring, and Grievance Committees, as well as in multiple leadership positions within the Women Lawyers Section.
If elected, I look forward to working with incoming President Rebecca Beers and the Executive Committee to continue expanding outreach and programming that support lawyers at every stage of their careers. I would be honored to earn your vote for Executive Committee, Place 4.”
A Career Built from the Ground Up
Brandy’s professional story is one of perseverance, hard work, and deep respect for the practice of law. She began her career in the legal field as a secretary and paralegal, earning an associate degree in Paralegal Studies from Gadsden State Community College while working full time. She continued to work as a paralegal for 14 years, attending college and then law school at night.
She later earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Juris Doctor from Birmingham School of Law, before being admitted to the Alabama State Bar.
Today, Brandy is a partner at Heninger Garrison Davis (HGD) in Birmingham, where she focuses her practice on personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and complex litigation including mass torts and class actions.
She has been consistently recognized by her peers, including multiple selections to Super Lawyers in the Mid-South region (2021–2025) for her work in personal injury litigation.
Proven Bar and Community Leadership
Brandy’s candidacy for the Executive Committee is backed by years of active, hands-on service to the Birmingham Bar Association and the broader legal community.
Within the Birmingham Bar Association Women Lawyers Section (WLS), Brandy has held multiple leadership roles, including Chair-Elect (2023) and later President during the Section’s 30th Anniversary year.
She authored a recent article on The History of the BBA Women Lawyers Section, highlighting the Section’s mission to foster the professional and personal development of women lawyers and to enhance the culture of the legal community.
Her BBA service also includes work on the Membership Committee, Mentoring Committee, and Grievance Committee, where she has helped support colleagues, strengthen professionalism, and uphold the integrity of the bar.
Beyond the BBA, Brandy’s leadership is statewide:
- Board of Bar Commissioners, 10th Judicial Circuit, Place 9 – Alabama State Bar – selected to serve on the governing and policy-making body of the Alabama State Bar.
- Co-Chair, Alabama State Bar Quality of Life, Health & Wellness Committee – helping make lawyer well-being a core priority, including CLE programming and outreach on mental health and wellness for lawyers and law students.
- Appointee, Alabama Lawyer Assistance Program Committee (ALAP) 2024–2025 – supporting confidential resources for lawyers facing mental health, substance use, and burnout challenges.
- Board Secretary/Treasurer, Alabama Head Injury Foundation (AHIF) for FY 2025 – advancing services for individuals and families affected by traumatic brain injury.
- Birmingham Bar Foundation Fellow (2024–2025) – honored for her commitment to excellence and community service.
She has also been recognized with a Distinguished Service Award from the BBA Women Lawyers Section for her contributions as chair of the recognitions committee.
Champion for Inclusion, Mentorship, and Lawyer Well-Being
Brandy has long been committed to creating a bar that is more inclusive, more supportive, and more representative.
She has:
- Moderated a CLE program, “Leveling the Playing Field in the Courtroom,” and co-authored a study on gender and racial diversity in courtroom appearances, based on data collected from local and federal judges in Jefferson County and the Northern District of Alabama.
- Participated as a panelist for the Women Lawyers Section “Pathway to Success” program, sharing practical guidance with lawyers at earlier stages of their careers.
- Spoken across the state on health, wellness, and quality of life in the legal profession, including presentations at Alabama State Bar events and OutREACH programs.
Her work reflects a consistent theme: lawyers do their best work for clients when they are supported, healthy, and fully included in the life of the profession.
Results-Driven Advocacy for Clients
In addition to her bar service, Brandy is known for her vigorous advocacy in the courtroom and her ability to guide clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. At Heninger Garrison Davis, she has been trusted with complex personal injury and mass tort matters, and she has helped secure meaningful results for injured clients, including plaintiff’s verdicts in challenging liability cases.
Her colleagues describe her as meticulous, compassionate, and relentless—a lawyer who prepares thoroughly, listens carefully to clients, and never loses sight of the human story behind each case.
A Record of Service, Ready for the Next Step
Brandy’s journey—from working her way through school at night to becoming a partner at a leading plaintiffs’ firm, a bar leader, wellness advocate, and community servant—demonstrates the kind of steadfast, others-focused leadership that the Birmingham Bar Association relies on.
As she seeks your support for BBA Executive Committee, Place 4 (2026), Brandy remains grounded in gratitude.
“The BBA has given me mentors, dear friends, and countless opportunities to grow and to serve. I’m excited about the possibility of continuing that service on the Executive Committee, and I would be honored to earn your vote.”
