At HGD, we believe strong teams lead to stronger outcomes for our clients—and our annual Spooktacular celebration is a perfect example of how we come together to reflect, reconnect, and have a little fun along the way.
This year’s Halloween-themed event took place on a festive afternoon at UpDown Arcade, a lively venue filled with classic games, good food, and even better company. The afternoon included team-building activities like “Team Bingo,” plenty of pizza, and a costume contest that kept everyone laughing.
Honoring a Legal Legacy
A highlight of the event was a special toast to Steve Heninger, celebrating the release of his new book, Trial Worthy. The book reflects on a lifetime of courtroom experience and what it means to truly fight for clients. It was a meaningful moment for the entire HGD family and a proud milestone for one of our founding leaders.
Celebrating Core Values
We also took the opportunity to recognize the team members who exemplify our CIRCLE values—Client-Centered, Integrity Driven, Respectful, Committed, Leadership Oriented, and Excellence Focused.
This year’s Core Value Award winners:
- Client-Centered: Brian Stack
- Integrity: Tim Davis
- Respectful: Lisa Mann
- Committed: Matt Buyck
- Leadership: Lee Gresham
- Excellence: Tzena Gauldin
Each recipient embodies the dedication and professionalism that define our culture and our commitment to clients.
Costume Contest Highlights
Of course, no Halloween celebration is complete without a little creativity. Our team brought their best to the costume contest:
- Scariest Costume: Taylor Garrison as Edward Scissorhands
- Funniest Costume: Chanlyn Free as the broken toilet seat (yes, you read that right)
- Best Overall Costume: Our KISS team—Brian Stack, Katie Wagner, Anna Carroll, and Honza Prchal
A Great Afternoon Together
This fun-filled afternoon was made possible by the thoughtful planning of Mary Ashton Byrd and her team, who made sure every detail reflected the energy and spirit of HGD.
At HGD, we work hard—and we take time to celebrate the people behind the work. Whether we’re fighting for justice in the courtroom or challenging each other to a game of skee-ball, our team shows up with heart, purpose, and a whole lot of personality.
