This morning, our team at Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC had the privilege of hosting Joe Calamusa for a dynamic leadership session titled “Leading from Your Seat.” We were also joined by Stephanie Lowe, Executive Education Program Director at the Culverhouse College of Business, who helped bring this powerful experience to life.
Leadership as a Daily Practice
The heart of the session? Leadership isn’t just a title—it’s a daily practice. Joe challenged us to stop thinking of leadership as a noun and start living it as a verb. Through the choices we make, the way we influence others, and the example we set, each of us has the opportunity to lead—right from where we are.
Learning From Experience
Joe brings a rare combination of corporate experience and academic expertise to the table. He’s the Managing Director of the University of Alabama Sales Program and a Clinical Professor of Marketing at Culverhouse. His career spans brand management, national sales leadership, and co-founding a consulting firm focused on leadership development. In short, he knows how to turn leadership theory into everyday impact.
Leadership at HGD
At HGD, we believe that leadership isn’t reserved for the top—it’s a responsibility shared across the team. From our attorneys to our support staff, everyone plays a critical role in delivering the white-glove service our clients deserve. That’s why we invest in sessions like this. When our team grows, our clients benefit.
We’re grateful to Joe for leading with insight and energy, and to Stephanie for continuing to be a valued partner in professional development. Most of all, we’re proud of the culture we’re building—where leadership is lived every day, and client care remains at the center of all we do.
Because when we lead from every seat, we serve at the highest level.
