Brian Stack at his desk

At HGD Law Firm, we believe no client is ever “just a number.” Every person who trusts us with their case deserves the highest level of care, empathy, and service. And if there’s one person who lives that belief every single day, it’s Brian Stack, a paralegal who has been with us for the last 10 years.

Brian’s work spans several of our most important mass tort litigations—Roundup, Camp LeJeune, CPAP, and BioZorb—but his impact reaches far beyond the documents and deadlines. Brian was recently honored with HGD’s Client-Centered Core Value Award at our Firm-Wide Team Building Event, a recognition which reflects how deeply he invests in our clients’ journeys.

A Legacy of Trust and Care

Earlier this year, a client Brian worked with, Randy, planted a tree in his honor. It was a quiet, beautiful gesture that said more than words ever could. Just this week, another client reached out in a heartfelt email to Brian’s managing attorney, Bill Bross, praising his unwavering kindness and professionalism. She wrote that Brian was “the most helpful, kind, courteous person” she had encountered while navigating the challenges of her case.

These aren’t isolated stories. We regularly see Google reviews which mention Brian by name—grateful clients who describe him as responsive, compassionate, and truly present.

Living the HGD Mission

At HGD, our culture is built on values like Client-centered care, Integrity, Respect, Commitment, Leadership, and Excellence—a philosophy we call CIRCLE. Brian exemplifies these values not just in theory, but in daily practice. He listens. He follows up. He makes sure clients know they are seen, heard, and valued.

Brian is a reminder it’s not only legal skill that drives a case forward—it’s the human connection, the trust, and the respect we show each individual along the way.

"My job isn't just to work on getting the maximum award for each case, my job is to help someone who has been taken advantage of, been mistreated by people or entities much larger and more powerful than them. To make sure they are seen and heard. To let them know their suffering has not gone unnoticed. My job is to help them understand what is happening in their case and guide them through the process so they feel comfortable and cared for. I know how I'd want my mother, wife, and children to be treated, and every one of my clients is somebody's mother, somebody's wife, somebody's child,” Brian Stack.

Outside the Office

When he’s not helping clients, Brian is a devoted husband to his wife, Emily, and a proud father to their two children, Ella and Owen. He also has a bit of trivia fame—Brian once competed on Jeopardy! and still enjoys participating in trivia nights across Birmingham.

A Note of Thanks

To Brian—thank you. Your dedication, heart, and humility set the standard for what HGD Law Firm strives to be. You remind us that excellent legal work always starts with excellent people.
