On May 13, 2025, HGD Law Firm proudly participated in the Navigating Legal Issues 2025 Summit, hosted by the Fountain of Life Community Development Corporation in Huntsville, Alabama. This powerful community event brought together over 50 in-person attendees—including residents, legal professionals, and civic leaders—to address real legal challenges impacting families today.

A Day of Insightful Conversation

The event opened with remarks and prayer from Dr. James Strong, setting a thoughtful tone. The morning featured two dynamic panel discussions:

  • "All in the Family" highlighted key legal matters within the home, featuring:
    • Attorney Roderick Cooks (Employment Law - DEI)
    • Attorney Maurice McCaney (Family Law)
    • Attorney Anita Tye (Bankruptcy)
    • Attorney Everett Wess (Probate Law)
  • "By the People: For the People" focused on community-facing legal issues with insights from:
    • Jason Meadows (School Board President – Education)
    • Attorney Amy Myers (Immigration Law)
    • Attorney Honza Prchal (Torts Litigation, HGD Law)

Attorney Charity Gilchrist Davis moderated the panels with clarity and care, supported by translators Joshua Williams and Daniela Sosa.

Community Impact

Attendees engaged in a robust Q&A session and received practical resources, including mass tort informational materials and contact cards from HGD. For many, this was a first step toward better understanding their rights and options under the law.

It was also a moment of personal connection—long-time civic leader and municipal judge Everett W. Wess even remembered one of our attorney’s names for the first time, underscoring the lasting relationships events like these foster.

A Gracious Thank You

We are honored to have received a heartfelt letter of appreciation from Dr. James Strong, Executive Director of Fountain of Life CDC, thanking Attorney Honza Prchal and others for their insight and contributions. Dr. Strong wrote, "We believe the knowledge you imparted will have a lasting impact and help change many lives for the better."

The day wrapped up with warm fellowship, thoughtful gifts—including personalized mugs—and some truly top-tier carrot cake muffins, courtesy of the church community.

HGD Law is grateful to have been part of this impactful day and remains committed to empowering communities through access to legal knowledge and justice.
