At HGD Law Firm, we believe the best teams are built on trust, shared values, and genuine relationships. While many workplaces talk about culture, ours often feels more like a family.
That idea became especially clear with the recent addition of our new Front Office Coordinator, Michele Hill. Michele’s arrival isn’t just a new hire, it’s the continuation of a story that has been unfolding at HGD for several years.
And fittingly, it’s a story that begins with family.
How the Hill Family Became Part of HGD
Long before Michele officially joined the firm, we first got to know the Hill family through her
son-in-law, Noah.
When Noah joined the HGD team, it didn’t take long for him to become an integral part of the firm. His dedication, professionalism, and commitment to clients fit naturally with the culture we’ve worked hard to build.
But the connection didn’t stop there.
In 2023, Michele stepped in to help the firm with a short-term project. Even though her time with us was temporary, she left a lasting impression. Her ability to organize, communicate clearly, and create a welcoming environment made a noticeable difference in the day-to-day experience of both clients and staff.
Then in 2024, the HGD family grew again when Michele’s daughter, Abigail (Noah’s sister-in-law) joined the firm.
At that point, we joked that the Hill family was slowly taking over the office.
A Front Office That Sets the Tone
Anyone who has ever walked into a law firm knows that the first interaction matters.
For many of our clients, contacting HGD comes during one of the most difficult times in their lives. They may be dealing with a serious injury, uncertainty about their future, or stress about medical bills and lost income.
The first voice they hear or the first person they meet can shape their entire experience. That’s why the role of Front Office Coordinator is so important.
This position requires far more than organization and administrative skill. It requires empathy, patience, and the ability to make people feel seen and heard from the very beginning.
Michele brings exactly that.
From the moment you meet her, it’s clear that she genuinely enjoys connecting with people. She has a natural ability to create a calm, welcoming environment - something that matters deeply when clients are walking through our doors for the first time.
From Long Island to Birmingham
Michele’s story begins far from Alabama.
She was born and raised on Long Island, New York, where she spent many years building a life centered around family, community, and hard work.
Eventually, that journey brought her south to Birmingham, a city she now proudly calls home.
While the scenery may have changed, the values that guide her life have stayed the same. Family remains at the center of everything she does.
As Michele puts it:
“Born and raised on Long Island, now calling Birmingham, Alabama home. Happily married, mom of two amazing daughters and lucky enough to have gained two awesome sons-in-laws along the way. Proud grandparent of two grandkids with another on the way. Family is the center of my world, and I love spending time with the people who matter most.”
It’s a perspective that aligns perfectly with the culture at HGD.
Because when someone comes to our firm for help, they’re not just a case file. They’re someone’s parent, spouse, child, or grandparent.
Why Culture Matters at HGD
Each person who joins the firm helps shape the experience our clients have when they trust us with their case.
That’s one of the reasons Michele stood out from the very beginning. Even during her short-term project in 2023, it was clear that she naturally embodied the same values that define HGD.
She treats people with respect, approaches her work with care, and brings a steady presence that helps the entire office run smoothly.
The Power of a Welcoming First Step
When people think about personal injury law, they often focus on the courtroom or the attorneys arguing cases.
But the client journey begins long before that. It starts with a phone call.
It starts with a conversation.
It starts with someone answering the door and saying, “We’re glad you’re here. Let’s talk about how we can help.”
That first moment matters.
Michele plays a critical role in making sure every client who contacts HGD feels welcomed and supported from the very beginning.
Whether she’s coordinating appointments, helping clients get where they need to go, or simply offering a friendly smile during a stressful time, she helps create the environment that makes our firm different.
A True Family Affair
It’s not every day that a law firm welcomes multiple members of the same family onto the team.
But in many ways, the Hill family’s story reflects what we hope people experience when they work here.
We want HGD to be a place where people enjoy coming to work, where they support one another, and where they take pride in helping clients move forward after an injury.
The fact that Michele, Noah, and Abigail have all found a home here speaks volumes.
And for us, it’s a reminder that when you build the right culture, people naturally want to be part of it.
Welcome Back, Michele
We’re thrilled to officially welcome Michele Hill back to HGD Law Firm as our Front Office Coordinator.
Her warmth, organization, and love for people make her the perfect person to greet the clients who trust us with their cases.
Most of all, we’re grateful to continue this unique chapter of the Hill family’s story here at HGD.
Because around here, great teams aren’t just built. Sometimes, they grow - one family member at a time.
